Brain of Britain

The Liver building

Originally uploaded by JAMT.

Ah, Liverpool. The Beatles, football, the ferry across the Mersey, the Liver Building. A city of scallywags and rascals and loveable rogues.

And then there’s this wonderful radio phone-in clip which illustrates exactly why Scousers have a special place in every Englishman’s heart.

(My apologies to US readers/listeners who may find the intricacies of the Liverpool accent a little hard to discern. But don’t worry. We can’t understand much either. It’s an acquired taste.)

(A huge hat tip to Gavin for this one)

This is one of the funniest clips I’ve ever heard. Tears will run down your face (provided you can understand it).

So what was it he brought to the country though?

Hehe, oddly, this reminds me of my favorite American radio show, The Howard Stern Show. I think it was the sidekick chiming in with his wheezy laugh, brings back fond memories of Howard’s old writer, Jackie “The Jokeman” Martling.

Wellsy–I think it was big-eight-slippers!

This made me laugh out loud! Very very funny. Just what the doctor ordered! Hannah
