The Iron Man of Prospect Park

I don’t know about you, but with all the doom and gloom at the moment something as utterly pointless as rigging up a bike with a generator and an ironing board and then riding it around a Brooklyn park while pressing a shirt seems almost noble. Sure it’s not going to pay the bills, save the planet, or advance science. But it distracted us for just a few minutes from the fact that the sky is, indeed, falling in. Hats off to Ross Mernyk for achieving his dream of extreme ironing. And kudos to my buddy William for riding and filming at the same time. The full technical details for how this feat was accomplished can be found here. Be warned, they are very full and very technical.

A gasoline generator?

I’d be more impressed if it ran off of one of those bike light generators that attaches to the bike wheel.
