The Face of English Football

By

This is the most embarassing confession to make, but a certain Mac geek friend of mine sent me this link to a football tunnel altercation and I had only a 50-50 idea of who the two players were. Can someone tell me who, why, where, and when? (In my defence, if it happened in the tunnel after a rugby league game I would know. But then again, rugby league players save their tantrums for on the field, not off it.)

I don’t follow football in the slightest but I do know that the Arsenal player involved was Patrick Viera and he was being consoled by Dennis Berkamp. The Man U thug was Roy Keane who was the bloke who stropped off from the last world cup, you may recall, after a falling out with the Ireland Manager.

Thanks Mark. I know it’s easy to say I thought it was those two (!) but I was too embarassed in case I got it wrong. Wasn’t there an infamous tunnel incident involving Man Utd and Arsenal players during the last few years. And was this possibly it?

No, this wasn’t it. This one was in the recent match (last week) between the two teams, who seem to get all shirty with each
other following a particularly nasty match (by football standards anyway) last season and one earlier this season when the
Arsenal players chucked pizza at Sir Alex Ferguson in the players tunnel – funny! Incidentally, it all came to nothing on the
field, confirming that football players are girlie mincers, and Rugby League is the sport of true men (and bloody big ones at that).

Cheers Mr. Wells. Will any RL games be winging their way state side soon?
