Policing The Protest

This video only confuses me further and adds to my frustration. I scratch my head with disappointment and annoyance as I wonder how our society and media unconditionally rallies behind this cause; How the peace-loving, attention-seeking actors and pop stars think it’s cool to go on marches chanting, “We are all Hamas now”. Do they watch the World go by with only one eye open?

I watched the video with disgust, as the police were bombarded with abuse, both verbal and physical. I would respect any cause that peacefully demonstrates against what they believe to be wrong (even if I personally disagree with their belief). But these people deserved no respect and their actions were vile, aggressive and criminal. I would have sat back happily and watched the police wade in and drag the aggressors away. However, I have no doubt Galloway/Livingstone/Lennox/Eno/Benn blah blah blah would condone this as acceptable resistance, and stopping them with any force would breach some Human Right law somewhere or other. And be the bit to make the headlines.

I almost began to feel sorry for the edgy-looking girl in the orange fluorescent jacket trying to maintain order. But I don’t. I’m sure she genuinely believes she’s helping make the world a better place. But I find her left wing, blinkered, Guardian view of the troubles in the Middle East (amongst other causes) the most worrying and dangerous aspect of the ‘Pro-Palestinian’ plight.

Unless of course I am mistaken, and she and the chattering classes genuinely want the end to death, misery and suffering in the World. But I’m not mistaken. I do know however, she would not have looked so fearful if she’s attended the Pro-Israel rally. But why would she want to attend an unfashionable thing like that?
