You might be interested to know Paul that last night on Channel 4 there was a programme called the War on Britain’s Jews presented by Richard Littlejohn.
(Remarkable I know, as hitherto I always thought he was pretty odious).
Attacks on Jews in Britain have doubled in the last two years to 564 incidents.
North Manchester was named as the place where the majority of these attacks take place.
Next week I join the local newspaper there and will move there within a month.
It was horrifying to hear from the chief constable that Jews have to be given a police escort to get to Synagogue and, even more disturbing, that Jewish children aren’t even safe at high school and it has had to install anti-bombing glass in the windows and installed an evacuation procedure in case the school is attacked.
It’s something I’ve sadly come to expect from the far-right and anti-Jewish Muslim elements in British society but more worrying to me was the discussion about the rise in anti-Semetism from the socialist left (so-called liberals who should find any kind of racism dispicable) fuelled by those who can’t separate opposition to Israeli policy regarding Palestine from Jewish people as a whole.

As for the program on C4 is it not ridicules to listen to a right wing c*** of LITTLEJOHN calibre who writes racist, homophobic articles. Had other journalist like John Snow’s calibre presented the program, I would have given lots of credit to this documentary, but with Richard Littlejohn-I don’t think so he always puts forward right wing agendas when he writes and presents etc. And don’t forget he is the highest paid columnist, so he has no worry who he offends.
But as for the safety of Jewish being attacked it’s not the left’s fault as it was portrayed by this program, it’s stupid, irresponsible, thugs that are responsible for attacking innocent people like them, but the same can be said of Muslim women who are attacked on a daily basis – some have even started attending marshal art classes to defend themselves.

Ermiyas, I was referring to the pmw site too. I don’t see why them being who they are makes the video any less valid.

I’m happy not to know much about Littlejohn. According to Johann Hari, he wrote the following re. the Rwanda genocide. “Does anyone really give a monkey’s about what happens in Rwanda? If the Mbongo tribe wants to wipe out the Mbingo tribe then as far as I am concerned that is entirely a matter for them.” Anyway, I haven’t seen the documentary he presented. Was it any good?

I have answered BiB question, may I ask you what do you know about what Israeli kids are being taught. I have seen a documentary that showed children from Israel and Palestine slating hatred for each other, both groups of kids wanting to clean out each other and a credible channel made this program. So instead of trying to defend Mossad and accusing me of “untruthful name calling” as you said go back and do your research.

Actually I know quite a few children who have gone to Israeli run schools and as PD points out this would never be taught in Israeli schools or broadcast on tv. I’ve lived in Israel and interacted with Israeli Jews and Israeli Muslims, no way this kind thing would fly there. I’m not saying there is completely no hatred on the Israeli side, but there is no systematic villifying and dehumanizing of palestinians.
