Broke Arm Levin

The Frisbee season has come to an abrupt end. Saturday’s escapades in Central Park were followed by a Memorial Day Frisbee game in Prospect Park that ended in a four-hour visit to New York Methodist Hospital. William “Macboy” Levin is broken. For the full story see his latest blog entry typed with his left hand.

splitzo.jpgWilliam slipped during a valiant attempt to catch a frisbee thrown by some teenagers who muscled in on our game of Splitzo in which you throw and catch two frisbees at once. I feared the worst when I saw William get up holding his right arm in a very awkward position.

When I broke my arm playing rugby a long time ago a friend instantly took my t-shirt off knowing that it would be hell once the pain set in. I did the same for William, which unfortunately meant that he spent much of the next two hours topless. Not a pretty sight unless you’re a fan of Austin Powers.

Thankfully, the doctors leant William a very fetching gown, which he sported for the rest of the evening. After a long wait and an X-ray it was confirmed that his arm was indeed broken.

testy title

William was given a temporary splint until he could see a specialist yesterday. Apparently his latest cast is made of fiberglass and decorated with Stars and Stripes.

As you can see, I had a lot of fun photographing William’s hospital escapades. But it can’t be much fun being an animator and a computer geek and not having the use of your right arm. Get well soon William.

Ooh, I don’t know. It’s quite a pretty sight. I was going to suggest to Mr. Levin that he instantly upload the photos to jdate, but a commenter chez lui had already asked him for his profile number. See, every cloud has a silver lining. (Hopefully the profile-number-asker wasn’t a man, though.)

William, A nice bowl of chicken soup should help bones knit together beautifully!
