A lot of Cypriots treat their animals like family, (I grew up with great danes and saint bernards running around!) it is still very embarrassing and heartbreaking to see the animals treated this way. Monty is a cross Beagle & was dumped at the bottom of our dive overnight as a 6 week old puppy. George is a Cypriot Pointer, I am told he looks very much like a German Pointer. We found him wandering & virtually starving on New Years day 2010. We are fostering him until a permanent home can be found.
